Ocean Downs

21 Jul

Great news!

We've got the all clear to start using Ocean Downs. We will be starting with a few training sessions on Thursday to try and iron out any creases, then kicking off with games in the weekend. Please be patient while we get comfortable at our new grounds.
Teams that will be training at Ocean on Thursday will be notified. Once we're happy with things we will be advising the training schedule.

Junior & Youth draw will be out on Friday as usual, so that any field changes are captured.

This is another great achievement for our club and a ground we've been desperate to have as we continue to grow. Thank you to everyone for your patience this season as we've moved, rescheduled and sometimes had to postpone games so that we preserved the limited pitches we had available.

Special mention to Ross Lattaway, a Life Member of our club who spent a lot of time looking after our pitches over the years. He kicked off the Ocean Downs proposal with council when it was clear Blake Park wasn't going to be available for football. The result is 2 full sized fields with lights, changing rooms and storage.

On behalf of the club Ross, thank you.

Please help us look after our new grounds, as you do for all grounds:

  • Park in spaces which are clearly marked.
  • When warming up, stay off marked pitches.
  • Avoid areas that are visibly water logged or look deteriorated.
  • Avoid training/warming up in goal areas where possible.

Help visiting teams on game days, so they are also looking after our grounds. You can use this information as a guide when visiting opposition grounds as well.
