For all players, who will turn between 9 and 12 in the current calendar year, who want to play football during Terms 2 & 3.

Registrations open in January and teams announced in March. Coaches will advise training times. Leagues start in Term 2.

We form teams to align with NZF policies. this means that no trials are held, but we do have a muster at the start of the season so new players have the opportunity to meet other players in the club. A copy of our Junior & Youth Team Formation & Grading can be found on our Resources page.

Playing Time

Teams will train once a week between Monday to Thursday and will be dependant on coach and pitch availability.  Players may be required to travel to other clubs in the Western Bay of Plenty area  but the vast majority of games are played lcoally. Games are on Saturday mornings.

Playing format

The following grades for boys and girls are selected by the year they are born which is denoted in (brackets).     

Boys 

  • 9th grade (born 2015) - 7 v 7
  • 10th grade (2014) - 7 v 7
  • 11th grade  (2013) - 9 v 9
  • 12th grade (2012) - 9 v 9

Girls​​​​​​​

  • Under 10s (born 2014/2015) - 9 v 9
  • Under 12s (2012/2013)​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ - 9 v 9

Registration and Season

Registrations are open until the end of March.  Any registrations after this date will be considered if spaces are still available in that relevant grade.

The 2024 season will begin end of April or the start of May. Fixtures will be available once teams have been sorted during April. Games will be on Saturday mornings.

Equipment

To participate in the junior football, all players must have the following playing gear, which is compulsory.
Parents are responsible for purchasing the full kit. These can be purchased at the same time as registering OR anytime after.

  • Plastic moulded boots (no metal sprigs) 
  • Shinpads
  • Club shirt, socks and shorts
