Coaching
We rely on parent coaches, so if you are keen, make sure you let us know. We provide all coaches everything they need to run the Saturday morning session, including weekly skills sessions with video tutorials.
U7 Boys
U7 girls are entered into the U8 Girls grade below.
U7 boys play Saturday mornings during Terms 2 & 3 at Ocean Downs Reserve. WaiBOP don't offer a league for U7 boys, so club teams play an in-house games each week. The game-day is a mixture of skills sessions and small sided games (5v5). We also organise game-days with other local clubs.
U7 Boys Coordinator
We need a parent to help coordinate the U7 grade during the season. This is to sound the hooter (plenty of siblings will happily help) for the end of sessions and arrange game days with other clubs (about 2 per term).
Please email hello@tcafc.co.nz if you are able to help.
U8 - U12 Boys & Girls
Teams play in a WaiBOP facilitated leagues. Some travel is required to opposition clubs.

U9 & U10: 7v7
U11 & U12: 9v9

Forming Teams
Our policy for forming teams aligns with New Zealand Footballs Policy. A copy is available in the Downloads section of this page. In summary, players play in their respective age groups and there are no trials held to "select teams".
When forming teams, we do try our best to group friends together, but this isn't always possible. Registrations after the closing date will have less chance of any requests being met.
We try to meet all requests, however this can't always work and can be quite complex to meet everyones request such as:
- Players requests don't match up.
- e.g. Player 1 wants to play with Player 2, 3, 4 but Player 3, 4 want to play with Player 5 who is already in a team with 6, 7, 8.
- Game-day formations changing.
- e.g. Last season you may have played 7v7, but your age group now plays 9v9. This means squad sizes need to increase, and players moved around.
- When you have requested to play in a team where all players from last season are keen to try and stay together, there isn't room for more players.
A full copy of our policy is in the Downloads section on this page.
Sideline Behaviour Policy
This policy is shared across TCAFC, FC Tauranga Moana (FCTM) and Papamoa FC to outline a shared responsibility of our members and supporters when representing the club. It supports the NZ Football Code of Conduct to maintain the best environment for players, coaches, officials and supporters.
If you see any poor sideline behaviour from any TCAFC or opposition members, please alert the referee and then notify hello@tcafc.co.nz
