Football is Back (again)

7 Sep

Tēnā koutou katoa blues,

An update as we enter back into Alert Level 2 on the requirements to train and play football. Please read the below as some of our football groups have been impacted.

Getting back into football takes a lot of effort from our volunteers. Please be patient, and we will update you soon as we can. This may mean that we aren’t always able to answer individual questions in a timely manner.

Level 2 Government Guidance
Football training and games can resume but adhering to Government guidance, including strict requirements around distancing and group sizes. Group sizes are limited to 50 indoors and 100 outdoors. This includes players and spectators. Referees, officials and other workers providing services to a sports game are not included. Current NZ Football Guidance can be found here.

So what does this mean for our football groups and events?

CHANGING FACILITIES AND CLUBROOMS
These will remain closed due to the requirements required under Alert Level 2. We hope this won’t be for much longer. Public toilets should be open at all grounds.

KEY POINTS TO REMEMBER

  • If you are sick, stay home please.
  • Physical distancing of 2 metres where possible.
  • Masks are compulsory when physical distancing is not possible (not needed for players on the pitch).
  • Everyone must check using the COVID App. Coaches will need to keep an attendance record in Friendly Manager (details will be sent out).
  • Please limit spectators with one parent and no siblings where possible.
  • Stick within your allocated groups.

EVENTS UPDATE
Quiz
As above, we will assess this soon, but at this stage the event is on hold.

TCAFC Social Tournaments
For our Sunday Tournament (end of September) and our Women's and Men’s Social tournaments (October), we need to be at Level 1 to run a full tournament. We will look at alternative options, which may include reduced numbers or alternative dates. We do have limitations in terms of field availability post October.

Tournaments
We’re coming up to a busy month for our Junior & Youth members on the tournament front. Rotorua Junior Festival, Weir Rose Bowl, Taupo McCartney and the U19 Nationals are all coming up. We’re sure that the organisers will be waiting for guidance as well and will update everyone in due course.

Welcome back blues!
