Kia ora TCAFC whānau,

We are thrilled to share the fantastic news that our very own Jonty Bidois has signed with the newly established A-League football club, Auckland FC! Jonty has been a key player in our First Team for the past two seasons after coming through our youth ranks and U23’s prior to that, regularly winning the Golden Boot for the club. He fully deserves this opportunity, and we couldn’t be happier for him.

This milestone is not only a remarkable achievement for Jonty, but also a testament to the strength and success of our Talent Development Programme (TDP) which is now operated under FC Tauranga Moana. These programmes have been instrumental in nurturing young talents like Jonty, and show that you don’t need to leave the region to progress your footballing career.

His development journey highlights the dedication and expertise of the coaches he has worked with over the years. We are incredibly proud of the role our club has played in his development, from his early days to his rise as a professional player.

Speaking to Jonty he had this to say: "Really excited about joining Auckland FC and disappointed I'm not able to finish the season with Tauranga City. Over the years, the club has always supported my personal development on and off the field and I couldn’t thank them enough. I have loved being part of the club for many years, making lifelong memories and mates. A big thank you to all the coaching staff for always supporting me and giving me opportunities to show what I can do. I wish the boys all the best for the rest of the season.  COYB!!"

Our Technical Director and Mens Head Coach Barry Gardiner has worked with Jonty for a number of years and said “It is great news to hear Jonty will be signing for Auckland FC, a fantastic opportunity for him. I would like to thank Jonty for his contribution over the years with Tauranga City. Jonty has come through our youth structures and has developed into a top goalscorer and centre forward. This has been down to his hard work and focus on developing himself over numerous years developing his craft. Jonty has been a pleasure to work with, and we will all miss his excellent personality around the club. I would also like to thank all the coaches and players that have supported Jonty on his journey, we will all be supporting you on the next step of your journey, and we hope to see you around the club when you're back visiting Tauranga. Good luck Bids and keeping banging in the goals.”

Jonty's journey also includes his time playing for Tauranga Boys College, as part of a fruitful club-school partnership that has benefited a number of our young players, present and past, over the years.

We wish Jonty all the best as he embarks on this exciting new chapter with Auckland FC. We are confident that he will continue to shine and make us proud on this larger stage. His success is an inspiration to all our players, showing that with dedication and support, great achievements are possible.

Congratulations, Jonty! The entire Tauranga City AFC community is behind you.
