Returning to Training

15 May

After the announcement of Level 2, we've been working with WaiBOP and the other local clubs to prepare a Level 2 Return to Football Plan. A copy can be found on our website here.

I’m pleased to announce after a lot of good work by the TCAFC team, we are in a position to resume football training gradually over the next few weeks.

There are some important things we must all do, so please take some time to read the following information and also take time to read our "COVID-Level 2 Club Procedure" located on our website resources page here.

Recent directions from the NZ government, Sport NZ and NZ Football have set conditions for a return to football under Alert Level 2 around hygiene, contact tracing and distancing. All TCAFC training sessions must adhere to new procedures, from 16 May 2020 until further notice.

It's important that you do not return to training until advised. Doing so could jeopardise our access to fields for the whole club.

We will be applying a staggered approach to resume training, starting with our Senior and Junior/Youth Federation teams. Following that at a later date, our Saturday Junior/Youth teams.

Our coaches and manager are key for a smooth return to training. Tonight we met with our Senior & Junior/Youth coaches to run through "COVID-Level 2 Club Procedure". They'll inform their teams on next steps.

You have to be registered to train. Register here, following our "Registration Guide" here if needed.

We also have our COVID FAQ on our website, which we're updating as more information is available. Our latest update is the current plan to return to competitive football. June 6th for our Saturday Junior/Youth teams and June 13th for our Senior & Junior/Youth Federation teams. This will all be based on Government guidance on the size of gatherings.

If you don't feel comfortable returning to training yet, that's OK. Just let us know as we need to make sure you're included for the upcoming season.

Kia Kaha,
Brendon
